Sportshall Athletics 2014

Next Saturday is the first Sportshall Athletics of the year. We are looking for any Year 3/4/5/6 young athletes to be part of the Wreake team.

There are 3 events in total and they are-

27th September – New College – 2:30pm – 5:30pm
11th October – Hermitage Leisure Centre – 2:30pm – 5:30pm
22nd November – Gateway College – 2:30pm – 5:30pm

The events are £3 per athlete.
For anyone that hasn’t done these events before they are a lot of fun and great for the younger athletes to compete. There are multiple events available. Have a look at this video for a bit more info.

About Us

Opportunity, encouragement and support for all at Wreake & Soar Valley Athletics Club

Wreake & Soar Valley AC boasts a membership in excess of 250 members of all ages (from 7 years to adult) and abilities and although we have some extremely talented athletes who take things seriously when it comes to training and competing, the clubs ethos is that running and athletics generally should be fun and that each member should be given the support, encouragement and opportunity to thrive regardless of their experience or aspirations.

We offer coaching and training for all distances and running disciplines including our burgeoning and very successful sprints group.

Training is held each Saturday morning on the grass track at the front of Wreake Valley Academy in Syston with our Saturday adults meeting alongside the facility at the same time.

For our competing athletes we have sessions on the track at Ratcliffe College on both Mondays and Wednesday evenings. Attendance is by selection based on ability.
