Wreake & Soar valley U13 Girls National Road Relay champions for the 2nd year running! What an achievement. After winning the Midlands version of the race, held at the same course at Sutton Park confidence was high but with some tough competition from teams like Blackheath & Bromley (2nd), Herne Hill (3rd) and Norwich City (4th) it was never going to be easy.
Rosie Timlock lead the A team out on the first leg (15m 19s) coming over the line in 11th spot. Hollie Gamble taking over the imaginary baton for the 2nd leg running a 2nd best time for the day 14m 34s. Rachel Nealon coming across the line still in 1st place with a 14m 45s.
The B team of Sophie Thorpe (15m 22s), Katie Parker (15m 45s) and Flora Miskin-young (15m 14s) came in as the first B team in 10th place. Two teams in the top 10 of a national event! Great running from the C team of Grace Alvey, Aoife Brotherton and Lilly McGlinchey finishing in 48th place.
The U13 boys team Xavi Salcedo (14m06s) Lucca Watson-Quilter (14m 30s) and Roman Watson-Quilter (14m 42s) coming in a really good 8th place, which they were in for the whole race. The U17 Boys were the last team of the day to run, lead out by Luke Berryman (13m 37s) followed by George Alvey (13m 55s) and then Josh Walker (15m 57s) came in 51st place.
Well done to all of the other runners on the day Charlie Lethridge, Ravenn Cooke, Charlie McGlinchey and Chris Nealon who all ran despite not being able to field full teams
