Well although we didn’t see the sun that was promised, we did see some great athletics. With the conditions not ideal for racing (very windy) there were some excellent performances from our young athletes. The results from the day are below, we did have quite a few top 3 finishes, although the league position does show at the minute that we are lacking athletes in certain age groups. It must be seen as a positive though that we are by no means out of our depth as a running club competing in an athletics league.

Special mention to all of the athletes that either stepped up an age group to fill spaces or who competed in events that they are not comfortable or experienced in. Or in some instances both of those! It really does help the team!

Big thanks must go the parents that helped out on the day by putting themselves forward to help with field events. Without this help we wouldn’t be allowed to compete in the league. So thanks to Chris Miles, Stuart Miskin and John Alvey. Also not forgetting of course for our resident photographer Rob Smith.
