Hi all,
We’re back with sprint results from the first outdoor race of the season!
– Yohan Bharucha came away with two new PBs in the 100m and 200m, a testament to his exceptional work ethic in training and a real achievement in race one of the new season. After a fantastic indoors as well, he’s already making a case for himself as the breakout athlete of the year
– Farrah Cook kick started the season excellently with a strong 100m and a phenomenal 200m which saw her pick up an electronic PB after a strong home straight. After looking so explosive in training it is great to see her rewarded with the times she rightfully deserves!
– Leah Butterfill ran a superb time of 13.62 in the 100m in her very first outdoor race for the club which bodes very well for her season ahead, especially considering the poor conditions she faced today.
– Marcus Deane also ran a PB in the 100m continuing his great form from the indoors earlier in the year. Special mention to his long jump as well, proving he is a man of many talents!
– Kiyomi Topham ran both the 100m and 200m, achieving an electronic PB in the latter and looking strong despite the heavy headwind! She can use this result now to push forwards in her first year in the U15s
– Jamie Hurst ran a strong 200m, coming very close to his PB and showing his extra training on Mondays is paying off
– Emma Ashby ran the 200m and should use her strong bend as a benchmark for the races to come this year – now at top age U15 she should use this first race as a motivator as she looks to replicate the great success she had last year
– Jenni Sheppard ran the 100m, and despite not getting the time she wanted finds herself already working towards completing a full competition season, something she hasn’t had for a few years and so should be proud of her comeback
– Ravenn Cook should use her 100m experience today to push her forwards this season and keep working towards her goals – athletics always has its ups and downs but in the end hard work always pays off 💪🏻
– Jack Markham executed a fantastic 200m race, proving his hard work and dedication in training is paying off, and as he looks to gain a PB this season should remember how good he really is and how far he has come recently mentally and physically – shout out also to his extremely proud fan club that never fails to be the loudest supporters 😁 (by Jess)
Shout outs as always to honorary sprinters Sophia Wrightam, Lyla Bryan, Flora Miskin-Young and Isobel Orencas for their runs today which looked strong both from a technical standpoint and on the clock – well done girls 😊
As always it was great to see everyone in a blue and white vest competing today, with some excellent results on the distance side too!
