Really hot morning on Sunday for West End 8, the 3rd race in the Road Running Leagueome really fantastic performances!

Joe leading us home in 49:33 – 2nd U23M, Michael wasn’t too far behind him in 51:17

Sophie and Lucy finished top 10 for the ladies, 5th and 8th respectively, Amy less than a minute behind as 1st VF40 and 3rd place U23F for Lille too!

This is a team league as well as an individual league and EVERY finisher really does count. Well done to everyone who ran!

Congratulations to the whole West End 8 2024 team!

Onwards now to Belvoir Half Marathon, Race 4 of the League which is this coming Sunday!

Opportunity, encouragement and support for all at Wreake & Soar Valley Athletics Club

Wreake & Soar Valley AC boasts a membership in excess of 250 members of all ages (from 7 years to adult) and abilities and although we have some extremely talented athletes who take things seriously when it comes to training and competing, the clubs ethos is that running and athletics generally should be fun and that each member should be given the support, encouragement and opportunity to thrive regardless of their experience or aspirations.

We offer coaching and training for all distances and running disciplines including our burgeoning and very successful sprints group.

Training is held each Saturday morning on the grass track at the front of Wreake Valley Academy in Syston with our Saturday adults meeting alongside the facility at the same time.

For our competing athletes we have sessions on the track at Ratcliffe College on both Mondays and Wednesday evenings. Attendance is by selection based on ability.
