LRRL 2019 Summer League Results

Sunday 8th September saw the 5th and final LRRL race of the Summer League. An athlete’s best 4 of 5 races counted for their final score.

Congratulations to Zach Spence, Vicki Galbraith and Michelle Findon for gaining a place in this years Summer League,

Zach finished 25th male again in the Summer League, as he did in the Spring and this time 2nd in the U20M age category. A great season for Zach running in all 5 of the league races.
Vicki finished 38th lady, an improvement of 17 places from the Spring and moved up 3 places in her age category to finish 6th VF45.
Michelle finished 55th lady, 24 places higher than in the Spring and moved up 3 placed in her age category to finish 14th VF40.

Opportunity, encouragement and support for all at Wreake & Soar Valley Athletics Club

Wreake & Soar Valley AC boasts a membership in excess of 250 members of all ages (from 7 years to adult) and abilities and although we have some extremely talented athletes who take things seriously when it comes to training and competing, the clubs ethos is that running and athletics generally should be fun and that each member should be given the support, encouragement and opportunity to thrive regardless of their experience or aspirations.

We offer coaching and training for all distances and running disciplines including our burgeoning and very successful sprints group.

Training is held each Saturday morning on the grass track at the front of Wreake Valley Academy in Syston with our Saturday adults meeting alongside the facility at the same time.

For our competing athletes we have sessions on the track at Ratcliffe College on both Mondays and Wednesday evenings. Attendance is by selection based on ability.
